Around 1989 I began working on ideas for a new album. Doubtful that any of the big recording companies would be interested in me, I decided to do it myself. Some songs I had written, others like Jack Kerouac’s Back were written in conjunction with Greg Macainsh of Skyhooks. Martin Cilia not only produced the album but programmed or played pretty much all the instruments. In my opinion it’s a little hidden gem. Lyrically Surry Hills Boogaloo and Kiss and Tell are up there with my best work, and the music is diverse and interesting held together by a dark tone with themes of obsession, betrayal, sex and inhumanity. But there’s more than a dash of humour too in Kerouac and Kiss And Tell.
